Aivis Greters appointed Principal Guest Conductor at Gothenburg Opera from Autumn 2024

Young Latvian conductor Aivis Greters is appointed Principal Guest Conductor at Gothenburg Opera from Autumn 2024 until Summer 2027.

Aivis Greters was appointed Assistant Conductor at Gothenburg Opera 2022 and besides conducting several different opera productions he also led the opening concert for season 2023/24 with music by Bernstein, Dvořák and Copland. During this season Greters will conduct performances of Nabucco, Don Giovanni, Fliegender Holländer and Tosca, as well as the closing concert.

The announcement of Aivis Greters’ new position comes at the start of an important 2023/24 season which will see his debut with Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and Sinfonietta Riga alongside returns to Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra following very successful debuts with both orchestras last season.
