Andrew Foster-Williams returns to La Monnaie and to the role of Donner in Castellucci’s new staging of Wagner’s epic tetralogy Der Ring des Nibelungen. Conducted by Alain Altinoglu, Das Rheingold opens on 24 October and runs until 9 November. 

To open his 2023/24 season, Andrew joined the cast of Billy Budd at the Enescu Festival with George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra led by Hannu Lintu. Following Das Rheingold he embarks on a string of concert dates on both sides of the Atlantic; notably, Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem with both Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under Manfred Honeck and with Houston Symphony under Juraj Valčuha; and in Europe he sings Handel’s Messiah with Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla y León under Richard Egarr, Bach’s St Matthew Passion with Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and Ivor Bolton, Handel’s Deborah with NDR Radiophilharmonie conducted by Nicholas McGegan and he returns to Lahti Symphony Orchestra for Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 conducted by Dalia Stasevska.
