Siyabonga Maqungo, an ensemble member of Staatsoper Unter den Linden since 2020/21, opens his new season as Count Almaviva in Ruth Berghaus’ iconic production of Il barbiere di Siviglia under Ido Arad; followed by his highly anticipated role debut as Mitridate in Satoshi Miyagi’s production conducted by Marc Minkowski.
