Javier Perianes returns to Australia for performances with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra in July and August.
Perianes joins conductor Jaime Martín and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to perform Brahms’ Piano Concerto No.1. Concerts on 20 and 22 July both take place at the orchestra’s home at Hamer Hall. A third concert takes place at the Robert Blackwood Hall on 21 July.
Perianes then travels to Sydney for a series of concerts with Sydney Symphony Orchestra where he joins conductor Benjamin Northey, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.4. This is the second year of the orchestra’s ongoing cycle in which Perianes will perform all five Beethoven piano concertos, presenting one concerto per year. Performances take place on 2, 3, 4 and 5 August at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.
While in Sydney, Perianes also appears in recital at City Recital Hall on 31 July, performing a programme including Granados’ Goyescas and pieces by Falla, Debussy, and Albéniz.
During this period, Perianes also appears at the Argerich Festival where he performs Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.21 with Camerata Bariloche under the baton of César Bustamante. The performance takes place on 27 July at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
