Tamara Stefanovich replaces pianist Yuja Wang at short notice in two concerts at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg on 5 and 7 May. She performs the European premiere of Magnus Lindberg’s new Piano Concerto No.3 with NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester under Esa-Pekka Salonen.

The Finnish composer dedicated this concerto to Yuja Wang, who premiered it in San Francisco in October 2022. The piano concerto consists of three movements, each beginning with an intense dialogue between piano and strings, which then turns into another dialogue between piano and winds, followed by a synthesis.
