Gautier Capucon joins Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under the baton of Andris Nelsons to premiere Thierry Escaich’s new Cello Concerto Les Chants de L’Aube. Gautier will also perform the new work at the Salzburg Osterfestspiel on 13–15 April, and again with Boston Symphony Orchestra the same month. The concerts in Leipzig take place on 16–17 March and the rest of the programme is to include Bach’s Orchestral Suite No.3 arranged by Mendelssohn, and Schumann’s Symphony No.2. Gautier will also perform with the Gewandhaus Quartet for a special chamber performance of Schubert’s famous string quintet on 12 March.
