Dalia Stasevska returns to the US for further debuts – she conducts Minnesota Orchestra in three concerts on 23, 24 and 25 February at the Orchestra Hall with an all-American programme of Missy Mazzoli’s Sinfonia for Orbiting Spheres, Dawson’s African American Spirituals inspired Negro Folk Symphony and is joined by orchestra’s Concertmaster Erin Keefe for Bernstein’s Serenade for violin, harp, percussion and strings. She then travels to the capital to lead the NSO Washington in two concerts on 2 and 4 March at the Kennedy Center – the programme features Jessie Montgomery’s wildly colourful Hymn for Everyone, Sibelius’ great Symphony No.2 and Shostakovich’s Concerto No.1 for Piano, Trumpet and Strings together with award-winning pianist Conrad Tao and NSO Principal Trumpet William Gerlach.
