This March, HP Creative Partnerships and Tours travel across Europe with St Louis Symphony Orchestra and their chief conductor Stéphane Denève. Pianist Víkingur Ólafsson is the soloist for this tour. He performs Grieg’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra. The orchestra’s programme also includes Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges and Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances.
Stéphane Denève, Music Director of the SLSO, said, “It is with great pride and excitement that we bring the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra to Europe, to showcase their extraordinary artistry as one of the leading American orchestras and ambassador to our St Louis region. We look forward to performing in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls and to connecting with audiences in each of these wonderful cultural capitals of Europe.”
The concerts take place at Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna (23 March), BOZAR in Brussels as part of the KLARA festival (26 March), Muziekgebouw Eindhoven (27 March), Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam (28 March) and Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid (30 March).
Víkingur Ólafsson first collaborated with the SLSO and Denève in November 2021 with concerts in St. Louis at the orchestra’s home, Powell Hall.
