Jonathan Roozeman releases the much anticipated Cello Concerto No.2 by Finnish composer, Kalevi Aho on the BIS label under the baton of Olari Elts. After delays due to the pandemic, the disc was finally recorded in December 2021 with Kymi Sinfonietta and marks a long standing relationship between the Sinfonietta and one of the foremost Finnish composers of today, Kalevi Aho. About the new disc, Jonathan Roozeman has said: ​“I’m tremendously inspired by the work, and I eagerly await the disc’s release.” The concerto will be paired with Aho’s Violin Concerto No.2 and is available to purchase online from 3 February.
