JIŘÍ ROŽEN MAKES HIS US DEBUT

Jiří Rožeň makes his American debut this week, conducting Seattle Symphony Orchestra at Benaroya Hall on 26 and 28 January.
Rozen and the orchestra are joined by HarrisonParrott Artist Nobuyuki Tsujii performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.2. The programme begins with Czech-composer Dvořák’s Carnival Overture and concludes with Martinů’s Symphony No.6, Fantaisies Symphoniques.
Further ahead, he returns to the US with two further debut engagements in March; first conducting the Utah Symphony Orchestra on 2, 3 and 4 March, featuring Sokolovic’s Ringelspiel, Dvořák’s Symphony No.5 and Bruch’s Violin Concerto No.1, performed by violinist Randall Goosby. He then travels to Florida, leading the Naples Philharmonic for two concerts at the Frances Pew Hayes Hall on 9 and 10 March, with Alban Gerhardt as the soloist for Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme. Also included in the programme is Martinů’s Overture and Rimsky-Korsakov’s orchestral narrative, Scheherazade.
