International Classical Music Awards 2023 — Winners Announced

The results are in — we are delighted to see that four of our artists have been included in the International Classical Music Awards 2023. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.
Ricercar’s recording of Handel’s Semele, including Lawrence Zazzo as part of an outstanding international cast under the baton of Leonardo García Alarcón, is the winner of the Baroque Vocal category. Hailed as an exceptional success and an interpretative triumph, it was made on the stage of the Grand Manège in Namur, a new concert hall in Wallonia, with the Choeur de Chambre de Namur and the Millenium Orchestra.
Pekka Kuusisto’s first album release as a conductor has garnered a 2022 International Classical Music Award in the Concertos category. Partnering with Vilde Frang and Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, he presented the Stravinsky and Beethoven Concerti for Warner Classics.
Nicolas Altstaedt and Pekka Kuusisto’s recording of the Ravel Duo Sonata for Alpha has been included in ICMA’s winner list under the Assorted Programs category. The album also includes Altstaedt’s fascinating performance of multi-layered Salonen Cello Concerto with Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra under Dima Slobodeniouk which is an exciting expedition into a colourful cosmos of sound.
The Bayerische Staatsoper’s production of Hans Abrahamsen’s acclaimed opera The Snow Queen (based on the Hans Christian Andersen tale of the same name) features mezzo-soprano Katarina Dalayman alongside the Orchestra and Chorus of the Bayerische Staatsoper conducted by Cornelius Meister and wins in the Video: Opera category.
