HarrisonParrott welcomes multi-percussionist Vivi Vassileva
10/11/2022
HarrisonParrott is delighted to announce the signing of multi-percussionist Vivi Vassileva to its roster for general management. One of the leading percussionists of the younger generation, Vivi Vassileva brings an exceptional musicality and poetic expression to her performances and enchants audiences as she explores and pushes the boundaries of her instrument. Innovative programming is at the core of her work as soloist with orchestras, in recital and chamber music as well as her various ensemble projects.
Commanding a wide scale of concerto repertoire including Tan Dun’s Tears of Nature, Kalevi Aho’s Sieidi and the concertos for multi-percussion by Oriol Cruixent, Avner Dorman, Friedrich Cerha and Keiko Abe, she has commissioned works from composers such as Bushra El-Turk, Claas Krause and Gregor Mayrhofer including a pioneering environmental project with percussion instruments made from recycled materials taking into focus the burning issue of pollution and climate change. Appointed Great Talent Artist by Wiener Konzerthaus, Vivi Vassileva will continue the house’s percussion series first initiated by Martin Grubinger who is one of her most ardent supporters and influential source of inspiration. We are very happy and proud to accompany the process as the baton – or rather the sticks – are now being passed on from him to the leading female exponent of percussion music.
