Christopher Ventris debuts at Canadian Opera Company

Christopher Ventris, renowned for his interpretation of Wagner’s Parsifal and Siegmund among others, reprises the role of Erik in Der fliegende Holländer marking his first performances at Canadian Opera Company. Conducted by Music Director Johannes Debus, the acclaimed production by Christopher Alden runs from 7 through 23 October 2022.
Ventris has enjoyed a long and stellar career singing principal roles at the major opera companies of Europe and North America, recently returning to the Metropolitan Opera as Tambour’Major in William Kentridge’s acclaimed production of Berg’s Wozzeck, conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, a role he subsequently performed in concert with the Boston Symphony under Andris Nelsons and at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia under James Gaffigan.
