Gustavo Gimeno begins his third season as Music Director of Toronto Symphony Orchestra with concerts on 21, 22 and 24 September at Roy Thomson Hall. Canadian pianist Bruce Liu performs Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.2; the TSO’s centenary celebrations continue with the world premiere of Kevin Lau’s The Story of the Dragon Gate, and further myths are explored through Lera Auerbach’s Icarus and the ever-dramatic Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov.
