Pekka Kuusisto will join Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra for concerts in Tampere on 24 August and at the BBC Proms on 26 August. The programme, conducted by Nicholas Collon, features Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, and the UK premiere of Thomas Adès’ Märchentänze for violin and orchestra.

Kuusisto then travels to Switzerland to commence his residency with Sinfonieorchester Basel with concerts on 31 August and 01 September, and the new season also sees his debut with Berliner Philharmoniker on 10 and 11 September where he performs Thomas Adès’ Concentric Paths concerto, conducted by the composer.
