Maxime Pascal conducts two productions at the Salzburg Festival this year. On 24 July he is joined by SWR Symphonieorchester, Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks and Salzburg Festival Children’s Choir in a dramatic retelling of Jeanne d’Arc, with Irène Jacob in the title role, set to music by Arthur Honegger. 

On 27 July he conducts Le Balcon in Jakob Lenz, a chamber opera by Wolfgang Rihm with text by Michael Fröhling. Georg Nigl takes the title role, with Damien Pass and John Daszak completing the cast. 

Both performances are recorded for delayed radio broadcast on ORF.
