25/7/2022
Christopher Warren-Green makes his first appearance with Opéra Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie at the Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier on 27 July. Warren-Green will lead the orchestra through a programme which unites two works by Gabriel Prokofiev with his grandfather’s (Sergei Prokofiev) Peter and the Wolf. The programme opens and closes with works by Gabriel Prokofiev including his Concerto for Turntables and Orchestra No.2 (featuring DJ Mr Switch as the soloist) and Beethoven9 Symphonic Remix for orchestra and live electronics.
Warren-Green has also recently been appointed as chair of the Foundation for Young Musicians, the charitable arm of London’s Centre for Young Musicians and London Schools Symphony Orchestra. As a former student of London’s Centre for Young Musicians, Warren-Green is passionate about music education. Warren-Green says, “CYM gave me absolutely everything, even a violin to play … without CYM I would not be where I am today.”
