The news of the death of Radu Lupu has saddened us greatly. One of HarrisonParrott’s very first artists who joined us in September 1969 after winning first prize in the Leeds International Piano competition, Radu’s uniquely personal gifts as pianist and artist impressed us deeply already in the early rounds — at which point Terry Harrison and I offered him management without waiting for the Finals. He was one of our most cherished artists and when in 1987 he joined Terry and Helen Turner in their new management enterprise he continued as a treasured and much admired friend. On occasions we were happy and honoured when, in harmonious collaboration with Terry and Helen, he participated in tours arranged by HP. Radu will be tremendously missed.
