GUSTAVO GIMENO CELEBRATES 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF TORONTO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Gustavo Gimeno helms a celebration of Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s centenary year, joined by former TSO music directors in a gala event at Roy Thompson Hall. Peter Oundjian, Kujja-Pekka Saraste, Günther Herbig, Sir Andrew Davis and host Marion Newman take to the stage on 9 April, with works by Berlioz, Delius, Wagner, Sibelius, Alexina Louie, Smetana, and Ravel.
Later in the month he conducts Jan Lisiecki in Prokofiev’s second piano concerto, with works by Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky accompanied by a TSO commission and world premiere from Cris Derksen. Performances take place on 22, 23 and 24 April.
