3/11/2021
Taavi Oramo makes his debut in Latvia on 11 November with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. He conducts a programme of Sibelius and Dārziņš, two composers contemporary of each other, with the former a great influence on the latter. The music is accompanied by narration written by bestselling author, Jānis Joņevs, performed by Latvian singer, composer and presenter, Goran Gora.
Postponed from its original date in 2020, the concert takes place at the Great Guild Hall in Riga and features Sibelius’ Symphony No.6 and The Swan of Tuonela, and Dārziņš’s Melancholic Waltz. It will be streamed online and available to watch on YouTube for a limited time.
