On 8 October, Sol Gabetta and Patricia Kopatchinskaja release their new album, SOL & PAT, on Alpha Classics. Extraordinary soloists in their own right, the CD celebrates a friendship and musical partnership spanning over two decades, with a programme as equally eclectic and even more far-reaching. JS Bach and Ravel sit alongside Ligeti, Xenakis and living composers Jörg Widmann and Francisco Coll, a reflection of the artists’ commitment to supporting and championing new music.

The album was recorded at the church of Zweisimmen in Switzerland and produced by Peter Laenger.

Earlier this year, the duo released a CD with Camerata Bern featuring Francisco Coll’s double concerto, Les Plaisirs Illuminés, which was nominated for a Gramophone Magazine Award.
