9/9/2021
Christian Tetzlaff performs the opening concert of his new residency with the Wigmore Hall on 15 September. He plays alongside long-term friend and collaborator, Norwegian pianist, Leif Ove Andsnes, with a programme of Bartók’s Violin Sonata No. 1, Dvorák’s Violin Sonata and Lutoslawski’s Partita. The duo recorded an album of Bartók’s Violin Sonatas together in 2004 which was Grammy nominated for Best Chamber Music Performance and described as ‘breath-taking’ by BBC’s Andrew McGregor.
Tetzlaff is Artist in Residence at the Wigmore this 2021/22 season following previous successful residencies in 2012/13 and 2017/18. He returns to the Hall to continue his residency in the new year.
