Stephen Hough returns to Korea this summer to perform seven concerts with three of the country’s orchestras. The tour commences with the Daejeon Philharmonic, with whom – under the batons of Seokwon Hong and Jin Seo – Hough performs Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3 and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No.1 on 22 and 25 June respectively. Heading over to the southwest of the country, he joins forces with Hong once again, this time for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.5 Emperor with the Gwangju Symphony Orchestra on 30 June.
Four concerts with the Seoul Philharmonic and Markus Stenz complete the tour. On 2 and 3 July they perform Rachmaninov’s Paganini Rhapsody at the Seoul Arts Center, and on 15 and 16 July Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3 at the Lotte Concert Hall.
