Javier Perianes is the Artist in Residence at the 2021 Granada Festival and the recipient of the Festival’s Medal of Honour.

On 22 June he performs the Grieg Piano Concerto with Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Klaus Mäkelä in a Nordic-themed programme, which is broadcast live.

On 12 July Perianes gives a recital at the Patio de los Arrayanes. The programme titled ​‘Love and Death’ includes works by Beethoven, Chopin, Granados and Liszt. 

Finally on 13 July he is joined by the Cuarteto Quiroga to perform Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E‑flat major, Op. 44, preceded by Brahms’ String Quartet No. 1 in C minor, Op. 51.
