RICCARDO MINASI CONDUCTS HANDEL’S AGRIPPINA AT HAMBURG STAATSOPER’S REOPENING
27/5/2021
The Hamburg State Opera’s much anticipated reopening after several months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic takes place on 28 May with the premiere of Händel’s opera Agrippina. Riccardo Minasi leads the new production, directed by Barrie Kosky, with Ensemble Resonanz in the pit and a cast of internationally acclaimed singers, including Franco Fagioli, Anna Bonitatibus and Julia Lezhneva, among others. A further three performances with socially distanced seating will take place on 3, 6 and 10 June.
Later in the summer Minasi will make his UK operatic debut at Glyndebourne Festival with a run of performances of Mozart’s Così fan tutte, bringing to life Nicholas Hytner’s much-loved staging.
