Congratulations to conductor Josep Pons who has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate / ​‘Doctor Honoris Causa’ by the Universidad Autonoma in Barcelona. Speaking to Europe Press about his award, Josep explained how his decision to go and study at the Escolanía de Montserrat had a significant impact on his later life and career. He expressed the importance of smaller decisions in life which ultimately help to determine the rest, and that his time in Montserrat was pivotal in his development as a musician. 

The event, which took place in the Auditorium of the ​‘Facultat de Filosofia I Lletres’, had a limited capacity of around 180 people, and was the first in-person event organized by the Catalan University since the start of the pandemic.
