HarrisonParrott welcomes conductor Tomáš Netopil to its roster for worldwide general management

HarrisonParrott is delighted to welcome conductor Tomáš Netopil, General Music Director of the Aalto Musiktheater and Philharmonie Essen, to its roster for worldwide general management. An inspirational force in Czech and Slavic music especially, he is also long-term Principal Guest Conductor with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Janáček Festival where alongside supporting the artistic vision of the Festival he conducts one visiting orchestra in concert each season. Reflecting his passion for engaging with talented young musicians, in summer 2018 he created the International Summer Music Academy in Kroměříž, his home town, offering students both exceptional artistic tuition and the opportunity to meet and work with major international musicians. In Summer 2021, in association with the Dvořák Prague Festival, the Academy will establish the Dvořákova Praha Youth Philharmonic.
Netopil’s busy international symphonic career includes engagements with orchestras such as the Wiener Symphoniker, Dresdner Philharmonie, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, and regular relationships with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo and the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra,Tokyo. Meanwhile he celebrates his eighth season as General Music Director in Essen, where in past seasons performances have included Salome, Così fan tutte, Rusalka, Lohengrin, Die Walküre, Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Pique Dame, and Der Rosenkavalier. He continues to be invited regularly to guest conduct at houses including Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden, Wiener Staatsoper and for Netherlands Opera.
