Camerata RCO will perform during the Thüringer Bachwochen this weekend. The concert was originally planned in April 2020 but was re-scheduled because of Covid-19. On the programme is the string trio version by Sitkovetsky of Bach’s famous Goldberg Variations.
The concert will take place in the church of Schloss Friedenstein, an early baroque palace built in the mid-17th century by Ernest I, Duke of Saxe-Gotha at Gotha, Thuringia, Germany. The state of Thuringia forms an ideal backdrop to the Thuringer Bachwochen festival because of the unique role it played in the life of Johann Sebastian Bach.
