Ain Anger awarded prestigious Kammersänger
18/6/2020
On 12 June 2020, Estonian bass Ain Anger was awarded the honorary title of Kammersänger by the government of Austria in a ceremony held at Wiener Staatsoper and attended by Christian Kircher, Geschäftsführer der Bundestheater-Holding, Dominique Meyer, Staatsoperndirektor and a socially-distanced group of selected guests. Since Ain Anger’s debut on Wiener Staatsoper’s renowned stage as Monterone in Verdi’s Rigoletto in 2004, he has sung over forty roles in over 350 performances there ranging from Mozart and Verdi to Wagner and Mussorgsky. He was formerly a member of the company’s highly-esteemed ensemble and now regularly appears as a guest soloist, most recently as König Heinrich in Wagner’s Lohengrin, conducted by Valery Gergiev.
Congratulations KS Ain Anger!
