HARRISONPARROTT WELCOMES AUSTRIAN CONDUCTOR CHRISTOPH KONCZ TO ITS ROSTER FOR WORLDWIDE GENERAL MANAGEMENT
15/1/2020
We are delighted to welcome Austrian conductor Christoph Koncz to the HarrisonParrott family for worldwide management.
Christoph is rapidly establishing himself internationally as a conductor, and in March 2019 was appointed Chief Conductor of the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss am Rhein having guest conducted the orchestra the previous summer. He also enjoys a very close relationship with the renowned French period-instrument ensemble Les Musiciens du Louvre where Marc Minkowski recently appointed him Principal Guest Conductor.
This season he made his debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra, London at the Bern Casino Hall following their work together on a recording project, and he has just returned from the Cartagena Festival where he conducted the Camerata RCO in a number of programmes including symphonies by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. He appears regularly at the Berlin Philharmonie with the Sinfonie Orchester Berlin where he returns this spring for a programme ranging from Handel to Gershwin.
“You could admire [Koncz’s] extremely precise conducting in Beethoven’s overture of his only opera “Fidelio” — he carried the intimate theme at the beginning all the way up to the stormy victory anthem with a crisp ending… The audience, too, displayed a somewhat Italian temperament in the orchestra’s un-paralleled, legendary interpretation of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C minor enthusiastically applauding after each of the four movements.” (NGZ Online, 12 January 2020, after his first concert with Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss am Rhein as their Chief Conductor).
