Artistic partner, Patricia Kopatchinskaja joins forces once again with ensemble, Camerata Bern to perform a new project, Maria Mater Meretrix including prominent soprano, Anna Prohaska.
Combining works from Gregorian chant to those by 20th and 21st century composers such as Holst, Kurtag, Weill and Martin (to name but a few), the duo presents unrestrained and provocative figures on the theme of Mary Magdalene, whose image from one age to another has been constantly reinvented.
The ensemble begins at the Festsaal Reitstadl, Neumarkt on 6 December and tour across Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland culminating in a performance at the newly restored Casino Bern in the Camerata’s hometown. Following the tour they will head to the studio to record the project.
