Following successful residencies last season with the Bamberger Symphoniker and hr-Sinfonieorchester, this season Martin Fröst travels to Switzerland to appear as Artist in Focus at the Tonhalle Zurich.
Together with the orchestra they will give a series of concerts under the baton of Paavo Järvifeaturing Aaron Copland’s Clarinet Concerto, alongside symphonic works by Tchaikovsky. The first concerts take place at the Tonhalle Maag on October 25, 26 and 27.
Fröst will then return in Zurich on December 15 for a chamber performance of Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet with Carillon Quartet, followed by French recital pieces accompanied by Roland Pöntinen on the piano.
His residency with the orchestra will culminate in a tour of Central Europe with Paavo Järvi in January 2020, where performances of Aaron Copland’s Clarinet Concerto will be given in Innsbruck, Vienna, Budapest and Dortmund.
