Nicolas Altstaedt commences his residency with SWR Symphonieorchester with a European tour with Teodor Currentzis. He performs Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto in Beethovensaal, Stuttgart on 19 and 20 September, Köln Philharmonie on 22 September, Konserthus Freiburg on 25 September, and at Frankfurt Alte Oper on 26 September.

Later in the season Altstaedt performs with SWR Symphonieorchester and Christoph Eschenbach in November 2019, Michael Schonwandt in January 2020, Krzysztof Urbanski in July 2020, and has his conducting debut with the orchestra at Schwetzinger Festspiele in May 2020. Altstaedt also performs chamber recitals with members from the Orchestra.

For health reasons, Teodor Currentzis unfortunately had to cancel his participation in the concerts of the SWR Symphonieorchester. Michael Sanderling has agreed to take over the concert programmes.​(17/09/2019)
