13/9/2019
This September, Alice Sara Ott and Santtu-Matias Rouvali make joined debuts with Berliner Philharmoniker. The three concerts at the Philharmonie Berlin will see music from Rouvali’s homeland, with Sibelius’ Symphony No.1 and Klami’s Kalevala Suite for orchestra, and the Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G with Ott, whom he has worked with a number of times including with his orchestras in London and Gothenburg. The jazz-inspired concerto is a part of Ott’s core repertoire that she has performed with several of the leading orchestras in Europe. The three performances take place on 20 Sep (20:00), 21 Sep (19:00) and 22 Sep (20:00). The concert on 21 Sep will be streamed live through Berliner Philharmoniker’s “Digital Concert Hall”.
This is the first of three important debuts for Rouvali in 2019/20, followed by performances with New York Philharmonic and Concertgebouw later this season. Alice will return to the Berlin Philharmoniker later this year to perform her Nightfall piano recital on 5 November.
