Pablo Heras-Casado releases a new album on harmonia mundi label as part of his ongoing developing series ​“Die Neue Romantik”. An all-Mendelssohn music disc, the recording brings Symphony No.1 with the Piano Concerto No.2 (featuring Kristian Bezuidenhout), rounded up by The Fair Melusine Overture. The recording was made once more with the Freiburger Barockorchester, which Gramophone magazine says are ​“on fine form, too, under Pablo Heras-Casado”

The recording completes the symphony cycle of the composer’s music, having previously released Symphony No. 5 with the Violin Concerto and Isabelle Faust and the Hebrides Overture; Symphonies Nos. 3 and 4; and Symphony No. 2.
