Lawrence Foster conducts a major revival of Le Nozze di Figaro at Frankfurt Opera this month with performances on 5, 11, 14, 20 and 22 April, in a production directed by Guillaume Bernardi with set designs by Moritz Nitsche and costumes by Peter de Freitas.

Featuring Iain MacNeil in the title role and Angela Vallone as Susanna, this engagement follows the rave reviews garnered by Foster from recent performances of Gounod’s Faust at Opera de Marseille, where he is Music Director. Opera Online noted: ​“In the pit, Lawrence Foster directs with great conviction and constant firmness an orchestra of the Opera de Marseille which distils all the refinement and subtlety demanded by Gounod’s score.”
