PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA IN PARIS
26/3/2019
Paavo Järvi takes the Philharmonia to Paris for a concert at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées with soloist Vadim Repin on 13 May. This is the Philharmonia’s return to Paris having last performed in October 2018 with Esa-Pekka Salonen.
The programme consists of Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Sibelius’ violin concerto, which was his only concerto he composed, and a triumphant second half with Tchaikovsky’s highly emotional and passionate final symphony, Symphony No.6, also known as the Pathétique Symphony.
