On 22 February Stefan Asbury and Jonathan Roozeman debut with the China National Symphony Orchestra in Beijing, in a concert dedicated to French repertoire.
The programme includes Ravel’s sumptuous Daphnis et Chloe suites Nos.1 – 2 and Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No.1. The performance takes place at Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts.
Following this concert in Beijing, Asbury will participate in Festival Musika-Música with Orquesta Sinfonica de Bilbao, presenting audiences to a varied programme of English and American music, including Britten’s Violin Concerto, Op.15 and Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess.
At the beginning of the month, Roozeman had a very successful debut with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Osmo Vänskä playing the Barber Cello Concerto.
