After his first appearance in summer 2013 and two recent successful returns to Sofia Philharmonic, Rossen Gergov has been named the Orchestra’s new Principal Guest Conductor. Gergov commences his tenure in his new capacity with a concert on 10 October 2019 in Sofia.

In addition to his engagement with the Orchestra in November 2018 and the announcement of his new post, recent and upcoming engagements for Gergov include debuts with the China National Symphony Orchestra, Szczecin Philharmonic and Sichuan Symphony Orchestra; returns to SWR Symphonieorchester, Orquestra Sinfonica Portuguesa and the Noord Nederlands Orkest; and a regular presence with most of the main Japanese orchestras.
