Víkingur Ólafsson will be making his grand debut in a series of concerts under the baton of extraordinary conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali. On 25th and 27th October a lucky public will be able to hear the Icelandic talent in Grieg’s concerto.
On 26th Ólafsson will also perform a solo recital featuring works by Bach and Phillip Glass, plus a special tribute to the late Icelandic musician and Oscar-nominated composer Jóhann Jóhannsson.
The concert take place in a wider US tour, taking the pianist to Washington and Kansas City, before returning to London for a Night Under the Stars at Southbank Centre and performances with Jyvaskyla Sinfonia, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra later this year.
