Jamie Barton and Russell Thomas make their house debuts at Bayerische Staatsoper in Il trovatore as Azucena and Manrico respectively. Asher Fisch conducts four performances on 7, 11, 14, and 17 October.

2018/19 will see further debuts for Russell Thomas who sings his first staged performances as Otello at Canadian Opera Company under Johannes Debus, and at Deutsche Oper Berlin under Paolo Arrivabeni. In concert he joins the Dallas Symphony for Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde  under Donald Runnicles.

Fast-becoming one of the most sought-after mezzo-sopranos of her generation, Jamie Barton recently debuted and at the Teatro Real Madrid as Leonor (La favorite), and returns to Covent Garden later this month in a special concert performance of Verdi’s Messa da Requiem under Sir Antonio Pappano.

Jamie and Russell reprise their roles for Il trovatore at Lyric Opera of Chicago under Marco Armiliato in November.
