François Leleux returns to Orchestre de chambre de Paris
1/6/2018
François Leleux returns as conductor and soloist to the Orchestre de chambre de Paris (07 June) in a programme featuring Debussy’s Claire de Lune, Bizet’s Symphony No.1 and Kancheli’s Childhood Revisited for oboe, piano, bass guitar and strings. The concert will also include the French premiere of Debussy’s Rhapsodie for saxophone arranged for Cor Anglais by Gilles Silvestrini — written for Leleux.
Discussing the creation of the Rhapsodie arrangement, Leleux comments: “After hearing this wonderful piece I thought we should give the opportunity for the chamber music world with the magic Cor Anglais, in a new world of refinement. Gilles Silvestrini is a wonderful French composer who has written many pieces for oboe — concerti, étude, chamber music. He is such a poetic and delicate orchestrator, it could be only him!”
Next season Leleux will return once more to Orchestre de chambre de Paris for concerto performance of Strauss’ Oboe Concerto with António Méndez conducting.
