As Mozartwoche Salzburg’s Artist in Portrait 2018 Jörg Widmann is featured in five concerts, starting with a matinée recital with the Hagen Quartet that includes the performance of Widmann’s Clarinet Quintet premiered last year. This recital marks the end of an extensive and celebrated tour with the Hagen Quartet with concerts at Cité de la Musique Paris, London’s Wigmore Hall, where Jörg Widmann is also artist in residence, LAC Lugano, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, Philharmonie Essen, again as part of a residency, and Boulez-Saal Berlin. 

On 2 February Jörg Widmann and Camerata Salzburg are joined by Olivia Vermeulen for a Matinée concert featuring Weber’s Concertino, Widmann’s Con brio and 180 beats per minute and Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 and Aria Parto!. On 3 February Jörg will give his performance debut with Wiener Philharmoniker, performing Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto under the baton of Valery Gergiev.
