Pierre-Laurent Aimard begins the new year with a return to the Boston Symphony Orchestra for performances of Bartók’s Piano Concerto No.1 with François-Xavier Roth (11 — 13 Jan). 

Back in the US later this year, Aimard embarks on a 7‑recital tour of the US in March 2018 taking in San Diego, San Francisco, Schenectady, Chicago, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York’s Carnegie Hall, presenting a programme featuring Beethoven’s Hammerklavier Sonata, combined with works by Liszt, Scriabin, Ligeti, Obukhov and Messiaen in light of Aimard’s upcoming CD release of Messiaen’s complete Catalogue d’oiseaux on the label Pentatone.
