François Leleux makes his debut as hr-Sinfonieorchester’s 2016/17 Artist-in-Residence with performances on 13 and 14 October at Alte Oper Frankfurt.
Conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Leleux performs Mozart’s Oboe Concerto and presents the world premiere of Aquateinte, an oboe concerto by Michael Jarrell that has been co-commissioned by the Hessischer Rundfunk, Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo, Utah Symphony Orchestra and Berner Symphonieorchester.
Leleux gives further performances of Aquateinte this season with the Utah Symphony Orchestra and Thierry Fischer in Salt Lake City (24 and 25 February 2017) and again with the hr-Sinfonieorchester and Andrés Orozco-Estrada in Monte Carlo on 17 March 2017.
Throughout his residency with hr-Sinfonieorchester, François will appear as soloist, conductor and chamber musician, reflecting all areas of his performing life. Following his debut this week, François will perform concertos for violin and oboe by Bach and Escaich with Lisa Batiashvili (12 and 13 January 2017), present an evening of chamber music with the principle players of orchestra (23 April 2017), and conduct the Kick-Off concert with works by Mozart, Lebrun, Faure and Prokofiev (11 and 12 May 2017).
François’s performance on 14 October will be broadcast live on Radio hr2-Kulture and via live video-streaming on ARTE concert.
