Andrey Boreyko joins I, CULTURE Orchestra on their summer tour
11/8/2017
I, CULTURE Orchestra will undertake its 7th summer tour between 13 – 25 August 2017.
Andrey Boreyko will join the I, CULTURE Orchestra for this year’s edition of their summer tour. This follows a dynamic US summer festival tour, which included appearances at the Ravinia Festival with Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and at the Aspen Music Festival.
Soloists Benjamin Schmid (13 August) and Julian Rachlin (13 – 25 August) join Boreyko performing at the Chopin Festival in Warsaw, at the open air festival ‘Classics at the Town Hall’ in Minsk on 19 August, the Kiev Opera House on 20 August, Konzerthaus Berlin as part of the ‘Young Euro Classics 2017’ on 23 August, and at the ‘Alto Adige Festival 2017’ in Dobbiaco on 25 August. The repertoire for this tour includes Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, Lutosławski’s Concerto for Orchestra, and Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique alongside works by Korndorf and Silvestrov.
Established by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in 2011, the ICO is an ensemble of outstanding young musicians from Poland and the Eastern Partnership member states – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The ICO’s twin aims are to form a great orchestra of international young musicians and to create an outstanding and innovative vehicle for positive cultural and social co-operation and international development. Following an audition process, the young players gather together each summer in Poland for a period of workshops and rehearsals before embarking on an international tour.
HarrisonParrott is delighted to collaborate with I, CULTURE Orchestra for the fourth time and manage the concerts in Berlin and Dobbiaco.
