François Leleux makes his solo debut at Grant Park Music Festival performing Strauss’ Oboe Concerto with Carlos Kalmar and the Grant Park Orchestra (4 and 5 August). 

Leleux performed Strauss’ oboe concerto last season at the BBC Proms with the Aurora Orchestra to critical acclaim: ​“Francois Leleux’s oboe was as soft as freshly churned butter…the French musician gracefully intertwining with the Aurora’s responsive winds and strings” (The Times) 

A review of his performance alongside the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra described him as: “…His phrasing was mellifluous, and as open-air as the composer’s beloved Bavarian Alps;…flourishes danced as though from panpipes, and he painted piquant shades of colour.” 

Following his appearance at Grant Park Music Festival, Francois Leleux will perform at the 70^th anniversary of the Edinburgh International Festival.
