Appearing for the first time in the UK, young Moldovan bass Oleg Tsibulko joins the Buxton Festival as Banquo in Elijah Moshinsky’s production of Macbeth. Conducted by Stephen Barlow, Oleg performs between 7 and 21 July. 

Following an acclaimed debut last season as Gremin (Eugene Onegin) for Angers Nantes Opéra, Oleg has continued to expand his European presence with debuts at the Rossini Opera Festival as Zambri in Davide Livermore’s production of Ciro in Babilonia, at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as Oroe in Semiramide under Bruno Campanella, and with Musikfestival Dortmund under Giacomo Sagripanti as the Governor in Le comte Ory. Oleg returned to Florence this season as Un Frate in Don Carlos under Zubin Mehta and will continue the collaboration when he joins the esteemed conductor for performances of Verdi’s Messa da Requiem in Palermo next season. 

A former ensemble member of the Bolshoi Theatre, recent appearances there include Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Colline (La bohème), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte) and the title role in Le nozze di Figaro.
