Golda Schultz makes her American orchestral debut
31/5/2017
On 1 and 3 June, Golda Schultz makes her North American orchestral debut performing Mahler’s Symphony No.2 with the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington and Music Director Christoph Eschenbach.
The first in a string of upcoming engagements in the USA for this fast-rising soprano, Schultz will debut at the Metropolitan Opera next season as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) under James Levine, repeating the role she recently sang for the first time at her home house, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. The final performance of Golda’s New York run will be broadcast live to cinemas around the globe as part of the Met’s ‘Live in HD’ series. This Cape Town native returns to the USA in the new year for Die Jahreszeiten with the Cleveland Orchestra under Music Director Franz Welser-Möst in both Cleveland and at Carnegie Hall, before embarking on her debut US recital tour in the autumn of 2018.
