On 1 and 3 June, Robert Spano closes the Atlanta Symphony’s 2016/17 season, conducting the world premiere of Mark Buller’s Songs of Ophelia, commissioned for the Orchestra by the Antinori Foundation and the Rapido! Composition Competition. The programme also includes Britten’s Four Sea Interludes and Act 1 from Wagner’s Die Walküre.
This follows a very successful world premiere of Jonathan Leshnoff’s oratorio Zohar at Carnegie Hall last month.
